Raytheon is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to support its radar programs and the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department. The MDS SW mission is to provide world class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers' wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems.
Requirements
- Experience developing software with agile methodology in a team-based environment
- Experience with software development, test, and/or integration using C, C++ or Ada
- Experience using debugging tools to quickly identify and fix software bugs, as well as optimize code for performance
- Exposure to radar software development and/or radar concepts
- Experience with current missile defense programs with specific experience in large, complex systems
- Experience working in Agile environments such as scrum, scrum at scale, SAFe and DevSecOps
- Experience with tools such as Atlassian Suite (e.g., Bitbucket/Artifactory, Confluence, Crucible, Fisheye, Jira), Jenkins, Eclipse, and Ansible
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment, delivering build to site multiple times a year.
- Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with systems and SI&T engineers to analyze, implement, and test system modification requests to the existing system baseline.

- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- DoD Clearance: Secret
- Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
