Collins Aerospace's Strategic Solutions team is looking for an exceptionally motivated engineer that is passionate about collaborating with high-performance teams to create mission critical solutions supporting Mission Systems. This position will support the shaping of the future of NC3 defense systems for the armed forces.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with Object Oriented Development using Java with the ability to create complex software designs based on customer’s requirements.
- Previous experience designing distributed software using microservices.
- Experience with requirements analysis and requirements decomposition and derivation.
- Experience with UML, SysML, MBSE and CAMEO Modeling tools.
- Experience with virtualization.
- Knowledge of microservices, containers and orchestrators.
- Knowledge in OMS.
Responsibilities
- You will support requirements decomposition and derivation to produce Software Requirements.
- You will be responsible for producing high quality mission critical software.
- You will be responsible for providing direct support to stakeholders answering questions and solving technical issues.
- You will have the opportunity to mentor senior engineers, junior engineers and interns.
- You will support the team in critical decisions.
- You will have the opportunity to act as a Subject Matter Expert within the Software discipline and team.
- You will team up with a high-performance software team, collaborating with fellow Software engineers, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Software Architects, and other teams.

- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- DoD Clearance: Secret
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
