Crunchyroll is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of their next-generation video player library.
Requirements
- 15+ years of industry experience
- Expertise in multimedia frameworks and protocols, such as MPEG-DASH and HLS
- Hands-on experience developing in multiple code stacks - mobile, web, backend, db, infrastructure
- Experience working with product and program peers to help establish technology roadmaps
- Experience leading technology leaders and driving important engineering programs
- Experience developing solutions used by millions of users
- Experience with front-end customer-facing applications
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of the next-generation video player library
- Establish relationships across Engineering, Program Management, Product, and QA to help establish the technology roadmap
- Join an international team of 100+ client engineers and leaders to help establish Crunchyroll as the leader in its space
- Develop solutions used by millions of users
- Lead technology leaders and drive important engineering programs
- Balance trade-offs between competing interests
- Provide a world-class streaming experience for millions of Anime fans across the world
