Raytheon is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join their Digital Technology Data, Analytics & AI Applied Artificial Intelligence team to support the application of data science and software engineering methods and techniques for production-scale internal use and external research.
Requirements
- Experience with Python development (numpy, scipy, scikit-image, and scikit-learn) for integration into statistical and/or machine learning applications (beyond academic examples).
- Experience with relational databases management and SQL development.
- Experience applying quantitative techniques (normalization, standardization, applied statistics) to cleanse and explore large, complex data sets in preparation for further analysis.
- Proficiency with at least one deep learning framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow.
- Experience building data visualizations with applications such as Tableau, Microsoft PowerBI, etc.
- Experience with commercial software development processes: good software hygiene regarding code documentation, unit testing, bug tracking, version control, MLOps concepts, processes, and technologies.
- Familiarity deploying machine learning models in public cloud services such as AWS, or Azure.
Responsibilities
- work with technical leaders and across functional areas to support the application of data science and software engineering methods and techniques for production-scale internal use and external research.
- collaborate with stakeholders across Raytheon, RTX, and the Applied Artificial Intelligence team to develop analytic products for agile delivery, spanning manufacturing, engineering, business development, and supply chain functions.
- influence organizational standards by researching and deploying technical solutions for customers as part of a broader ecosystem of machine learning and advanced analytics professionals.

- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
- Experience meeting with business stakeholders to identify and develop requirements for strategic use cases and research opportunities.
- Experience in creating repeatable, reusable processes and scalable data products with the advanced analytics team using Scaled Agile Framework methodology.
- Employees who are working in remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
