Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Sr. Principal Mechanical Computer Aided Design (MCAD) Modeler and Librarian to join their team to develop and maintain libraries of component parts within common engineering design CAD tools, specifically for mechanical parts within Siemens NX and Teamcenter, to support the design of weapon systems and equipment.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years experience modeling in NX or equivalent CAD tools
• Experience working with equipment design and/or MCAD/ECAD library maintenance and development
• Experience working with military or industry component part specifications or standards
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office tools
• 4 years’ experience modeling component parts in NX
• Thorough understanding of hardware development, design assemblies, mechanical equipment design, electromechanical equipment design
• Background and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

Responsibilities

• Candidate will be responsible to develop and maintain libraries of component parts within common engineering design CAD tools.
• Candidate’s primary focus will be mechanical parts within Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
• Candidate will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, components, manufacturing, procurement and other engineering disciplines to support the design of weapon systems and equipment under an overarching Systems Engineering and full lifecycle management framework.
• Candidate will demonstrate ability to develop part models for Mechanical CAD parts within NX and Teamcenter and maintain libraries.
• Candidate will conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with hardware designers and/or product line engineers in design, development, and utilization of software to create a representation of components for the CAD tools component library.
• Candidate may create and review library components, symbols, and cells in accordance with established NGC and industry guidelines meeting high levels of accuracy.
• The candidate will work alongside other members of a team of modelers and librarians to develop MCAD/ECAD processes and documentation.
