Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer or a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to support a program, providing skills and innovative technologies to develop, design, produce, and sustain optimized product lines across the sector while providing a decisive advantage to the warfighter.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other STEM related degree with 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's; 0 years of relevant experience with a PhD.
- Must have an active Top Secret/SCI clearance at the time of application and willingness to sit for a polygraph
- Ability to decompose requirements and understanding impacts to current software architecture
- Ability to create/decompose new software requirements
- Ability to partner with Integrated Product Team (IPT) to ensure alignment between design engineering and common software.
- Demonstrated software design experience beyond novice familiarity
- Experience with Model Base Systems Engineering (MBSE) and CAMEO tools
Responsibilities
- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Maintain existing operations procedures up-to-date to also include lessons learned from real-time performance.
- Develop new procedures as required.
- Interface with program and customer personnel.
