The Microsoft Entra Identity Governance team is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to enable organizations to improve productivity, strengthen security and more easily meet compliance and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- deep expertise in software architecture, scalability, and design patterns.
- proven track record of leading successful software projects and mentoring junior engineers.
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems or cloud-based solutions.
- proficiency in debugging, performance optimization, and building secure, compliant services across platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- 5+ years of experience building large-scale solutions in Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with Azure networking, storage, and compute services is a plus.
- Demonstrated contributions to engineering excellence through published technical blogs, conference presentations, patents, or internal innovation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop distributed systems.
- Coding is critical to this position
- Collaborate with stakeholders and demonstrate features developed in an Agile environment.
- Resolve complex system integration challenges working across team boundaries.
- Share learnings and code assets developed with the Entra Governance engineering team.
- Leverage subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
