Requirements

  • Able to effectively use problem solving skills.
  • Meet the physical demands of the job, especially lifting.
  • Understand the effects of the material used on finished surfaces.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble product per Shop Order Release (SOR), Operational Method Sheet (OMS) or schedules using appropriate gauges, screws, glues, staples, hardware and tools.
  • Inspect for obvious damage, color consistency and alignment or any other material specifications and inspect parts for compliance to any other quality or workmanship standards.
  • Document necessary information.
  • Perform proper preventive maintenance as required on any equipment being used.
  • Identify nonconformities and follow nonconforming product procedures and be aware of disposition authority.
  • Implement process improvements.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy.

Other

  • Keep work space and equipment clean and well organized.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and uses required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Support the Vision and Guiding Principles and other policies of Kimball International and National Office Furniture.
  • Follow and support the Quality system.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new situations quickly.
  • Able to interact with diverse groups of people.
  • Must have a positive attitude.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently or as a team.
  • Flexible with work schedules.
  • preferred one year manufacturing/assembly experience
  • Good verbal/written communication skills.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Able to verify paperwork and tickets.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred within the last 5 years of employment.
