Humanetics is looking to hire a Mid-level position to assemble and validate test fixtures and equipment, conduct periodic dynamic and static testing in accordance with governmental regulations (NHTSA), and perform experimental or developmental testing according to specifications.
Requirements
- Use of accelerometers, load cells, displacement transducers, PC based data acquisition systems as well as knowledge of basic physics; electronics and computer literacy are required.
- Simple electronic wiring and soldering skills
- Basic data entry
- Mechanical ability
- Assembly work in a manufacturing environment; where blue print reading is required.
- Math aptitude to solve algebraic equations, setup tests and instrumentation, collect data, taking and recording accurate measurements, and strict attention to detail are a necessity.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs, using hand tools - such as wrenches, torque wrenches, and screw drivers is a must
Responsibilities
- Assemble test fixtures according to print for production orders.
- Evaluate and test fixtures prior to shipment.
- May assist in performing standard production assembly of test dummies – which includes determining the centre of gravity (CG) for designated subassemblies by weighing the part on the scale and performing an algebraic equation utilizing the chart
- May assist in performing standard production certification testing according to NHTSA regulations, SAE recommended practices, and/or Humanetics procedures.
- Requires wiring transducers for use in testing and must be able to troubleshoot transducer problems.
- Performs experimental or developmental testing according to specifications set by the Engineering staff.
- Perform scheduled equipment maintenance and calibrations.

- The ability to: read basic blue prints, submit drawing corrections, establish BOMs, recommend design changes, and practice simple electronic wiring capabilities.
