A2LA is seeking a professional to assist in the day-to-day accreditation operations for the Product Certification program, ensuring the quality and competency of all conformity assessment bodies (CABs) under the program in accordance with international standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a scientific field of study.
  • 10 years of product certification technical experience.
  • An understanding and implementation of relevant conformity assessment standards.
  • Experience with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Standards Developing Organizations (SDOs).
  • Experience with assessing (or auditing) including principles, techniques, and application of requirements.
  • Advanced computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the accreditation process of CABs for ISO/IEC 17065.
  • Serve as a main point of contact in product certification for all routine and non-routine inquiries.
  • Perform assessor over-sites in the Product Certification area.
  • Proactively manage all aspects of the assigned accreditation program, such as ensuring that program documents and forms are current, and relevant association website sections are current.
  • Represent and participate in relevant industry groups (e.g., EPA ENERGYSTAR, TCB, etc.) as an accreditation expert.
  • Act as a liaison for external regulators and other organizations associated with the assigned program.
  • Develop and implement new growth strategy for the Product Certification program.

  • Evidence of strong internal/external customer service orientation.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Some travel will be required.
  • Must be able to walk; sit for long hours, use fingers for typing; talk and hear.
  • Work is typically performed in an office setting.
