Reality Labs aims to bring together cross-disciplinary minds to deliver tools that help people feel connected, anytime, anywhere. This role will develop hardware systems for VR, AR, or New Technology Initiatives, moving concepts through prototyping to mass production.
Requirements
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, GD&T, and 3D/2D CAD
- Working knowledge in material properties, such as plastics, metal, adhesive, and glass
- Testing and analysis experience (FEA, Simulation, Design of Experiments, etc.)
- Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing techniques (stamping, machining, 3D printing, injection molding, etc.)
- Experience with NX and Teamcenter
- Experience designing for human factors
Responsibilities
- Contribute to mechanical solutions as part of a highly cross-functional team
- Model, build, test, and refine prototypes and characterization test systems
- Work across the full product development cycle, from concept inception to shipping product
- Collaborate and manage work with Asia-based supply chain
- Push state-of-the-art technologies and approaches to solving complex mechanical problems while working with cross functional technical teams
Other
- Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Travel to external vendors up to 20%
- Experience working and communicating cross functionally in a team environment
- Fluency in a Mandarin and/or Cantonese language is preferred, as this role reviews regional content where usual language is in a regional language
