Microsoft is looking to evolve Outlook’s design system and toolkits on Figma, integrate AI and agentic capabilities, and enhance cross-functional collaboration to improve UI/UX for greater end user value.

Requirements

  • Solid visual design/layout/typography skillset.
  • Familiarity with Fluent Design principles and enterprise-scale design systems.
  • Interest in AI-forward design systems and emerging design technologies.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (CSS, HTML) for better collaboration with developers.
  • Experience with Outlook or similar productivity platforms.
  • Portfolio demonstrating excellence in visual design, interaction design and the creation of components and assets for design systems.

Responsibilities

  • You will have end-to-end ownership to deliver toolkits and design guidance that accelerate product development and uphold design excellence.
  • Plan, curate, and build a large-scale design system and toolkit consisting of optimized components and visual assets.
  • Define or extend visual design systems to create a holistic and detailed approach to typography, color, patterns, layouts, imagery, icons and more.
  • Contribute to cross-platform coherence by collaborating with Windows, iOS, Android, and Mac design system peers.
  • Investigate and execute the integration of AI and agentic capabilities in our toolkits.
  • Become an expert in Microsoft brand principles, guidelines, and Fluent product design language, and then evangelize Outlook perspective to stakeholders.

Other

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design
  • 2+ years experience shipping products, services, or games and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Solid collaboration and communication skills for cross-discipline teamwork.
  • Travel 0-25%
