Apple's Music Creation Apps' team is searching for a Product Designer to help design the apps that will shape the way music is made, bringing passion and dedication to the job to create great products, services, and customer experiences.
Requirements
- 8+ years of work experience with a focus on product design and UI across a variety of platforms like iOS, Mac, web, or others.
- Must have solid understanding and practical work experience in UX design for creative applications
- Experience in shipping digital products from start to finish, including the documentation and development process.
- Ability to clearly communicate concepts and designs through prototypes, sketches, high-fidelity comps, and presentations. Highly skilled and fast in any tools you need to visualize your ideas and deliver the work.
- Strong knowledge of music production and creation software such as: Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, ProTools, GarageBand, BandLab, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of, and engagement in, music creation, either as a musician, producer, recording engineer, or similar.
Responsibilities
- Design UX/UI for Music Creation App features.
- Develop detailed functional specifications on how music creation features should work.
- Research into creators’ workflows and trends so you can fully empathize with their needs and motivations.
- Advocate for clear and understandable user experience and communicate these concepts across many different organizations and skill sets.
Other
- Degree in music technology, music production, interaction design, UX design, visual design, or equivalent related degree.
- Enthusiasm and history working in an iterative design process, motivated by group critique. Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication and ability to present work to large groups and executives.
- A portfolio showcasing UX design work.
- Can distill and present sophisticated concepts verbally, visually, and in writing.
- Able to understand musicians’ needs and turn them into clean, comprehensive designs and workflows.
- Love to collaborate and debate with a team of talented and opinionated colleagues.
- Effective diplomat and storyteller with strong communication and organizational skills.
