Apple's Music Creation Apps team is looking for a Product Designer to help shape the future of music creation by designing new features and apps for their industry-leading music creation tools like Logic Pro, GarageBand, and Voice Memos.
Requirements
- 8+ years of work experience with a focus on product design and UI across a variety of platforms like iOS, Mac, web, or others.
- Must have solid understanding and practical work experience in UX design for creative applications
- Experience in shipping digital products from start to finish, including the documentation and development process.
- Ability to clearly communicate concepts and designs through prototypes, sketches, high-fidelity comps, and presentations. Highly skilled and fast in any tools you need to visualize your ideas and deliver the work.
- Strong knowledge of music production and creation software such as: Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio, ProTools, GarageBand, BandLab, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of, and engagement in, music creation, either as a musician, producer, recording engineer, or similar.
Responsibilities
- Design UX/UI for Music Creation App features.
- Develop detailed functional specifications on how music creation features should work.
- Research into creators’ workflows and trends so you can fully empathize with their needs and motivations.
- Advocate for clear and understandable user experience and communicate these concepts across many different organizations and skill sets.
Other
- Degree in music technology, music production, interaction design, UX design, visual design, or equivalent related degree.
- Enthusiasm and history working in an iterative design process, motivated by group critique. Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication and ability to present work to large groups and executives.
- A portfolio showcasing UX design work.
- Can distill and present sophisticated concepts verbally, visually, and in writing.
