The News Design Team at Apple is looking for an interface designer to create new user experiences across multiple platforms (desktop, web, iOS apps), ensuring designs align with product goals and user needs, and are implemented to a high standard.
Requirements
- Strong command of visual and communication design principles
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Proficient at extending existing design patterns across platforms
- Deep systems thinker, able to optimize sophisticated information architecture
Responsibilities
- crafting detailed interaction and pixel specs
- preparing assets for use in a variety of platforms: engineering implementation, Keynote presentations
- maintaining up-to-date files and uniform naming conventions
- ensuring design consistency across all assets and products
- designing new user experiences
- build new features and behaviors that align with product goals while serving the intention of the users
- adapt their designs to the realities of both internal and external systems
Other
- 3-5 years of product design experience
- strong interpersonal skills as the position requires working closely with other designers, engineering, editorial, product, and presenting to executive sponsors
- understands Apple’s high standards and design aesthetic to the core
- Creative and resourceful
- Flexible and comfortable with ambiguity and change during a project
