TikTok UX team is responsible for the product design of the core TikTok app. Our key vertical ownership areas include Core app Product Infrastructure, Social, Search, Creation, and Design Systems. Providing professional design methods and practices, the team helps improve user experience and working efficiency of these products and areas.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in product design, with a strong focus on UI and visual design for digital products.
- Proven ability to balance product thinking with a high standard of visual craft.
- Strong portfolio showcasing product-oriented visual design, system-level improvements, and impactful user experiences.
- Solid understanding of design systems and the ability to build and scale them across platforms.
- Proficient in A/B testing and data-driven design.
- Knowledge of front-end programming.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with product managers, product designers, and engineers to transform complex product requirements into elegant and intuitive visual solutions.
- Own the visual design of core features and new product lines, covering UI, brand expression, and multi-platform consistency.
- Propose and drive systematic visual improvement plans, including design guidelines, component libraries, and scalable design systems.
- Keep up to date with design trends and emerging technologies to ensure our product remains innovative and visually competitive.
- Elevate the team’s overall design standards through design reviews, best practices, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Mentor junior and mid-level designers, fostering stronger product thinking and visual design skills across the team.
Other
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Visual Communication, Art/Design, Product Design, or a related field.
