STX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, test, and refine innovative sporting goods across hard and soft goods categories, impacting products used by athletes globally.
Requirements
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo or Fusion 360.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, compression molding, and composite layups.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical and material testing.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) or similar simulation tools.
- Familiarity with rapid prototyping methods (3D printing, sewing, machining, etc.).
- Understanding of sporting goods standards and safety certifications.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and refine new products to meet STX performance, durability, and cost targets.
- Create and manage 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD platforms.
- Conduct and support mechanical, material, and performance testing; analyze data to drive iterative improvements.
- Research and evaluate new materials and manufacturing methods for both hard and soft goods.
- Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including specifications, test reports, and revision histories.
- Contribute to ongoing quality, performance, and sustainability initiatives across the STX product portfolio.
Other
- 0–5 years of experience in product design or mechanical engineering (sporting goods or consumer products preferred).
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
- A genuine passion for sports, performance, and innovation.
- Experience collaborating with international suppliers and testing laboratories.
