Ford Motor Company is seeking to optimize test efficiency and ensure seamless operation of the cutting-edge Rolling Road Wind Tunnel by managing the design, installation, and application of advanced test systems and fixtures for vehicle Research and Development, with a specific focus on aerodynamic wind tunnel testing.
Requirements
- Knowledge of mechanical/electrical test systems and data acquisition systems.
- Automotive background with knowledge of ICE and EV propulsion systems.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
- Project management experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong technical leadership, organization, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Extreme attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Manage the design, installation, and application of test systems and fixtures used in support of vehicle Research and Development testing.
- Specify, develop, and design the facility utility interfaces for test cell equipment used to support aerodynamic wind tunnel testing.
- Lead/develop facility sustainment projects and activities.
- Work in collaboration with customers, test engineers, and support staff to interpret and translate testing needs into accurate design documents.
- Prepare system specifications, project timing plans, and Bill of Materials lists for test cell and facility systems.
- Program data acquisition and supervisory control system test sequences (automation).
- Serve as a technical resource for the design, estimating, and scheduling of equipment installation projects.
Other
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or other pertinent engineering discipline
- 4+ years of experience.
