The company is looking to solve the problem of developing and introducing new products to satisfy customer requirements, and is seeking a Product Development Engineer to act as a key contributor or technical lead for small projects.
Requirements
- Experienced knowledge of lean, manufacturing, design, and quality systems
- 2D and 3D CAD experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or equivalent software
- Experience working through a gated design review process
- Basic understanding of GD&T, drawing, and quality standards
- Demonstrated ability with dimensional engineering and tolerance/variation analysis
- Experience designing and developing new parts using injection molding, extrusion, machining, or die cast processes
- Strong aptitude in process improvement, problem solving, technical execution and project management
Responsibilities
- Focuses on coordinating and leading design-based projects and efforts with other functional areas.
- Develops concepts related to satisfying a customer need and presents cost/benefit analysis while facilitating a small team to support the objective.
- Develops and presents reports summarizing technical analysis and business case to peer group and management audiences.
- Analyzes and recommends engineering or design solutions for product, process, design, or other technical challenges.
- Capable of leading cross-functional teams with a well-defined challenge, scope and objective.
- Designs, collects, analyzes, and reports on experimental studies and/or new technologies.
- Performs work independently through foundational engineering skills to determine feasibility and validate concepts.
Other
- Completed 4-year degree in Engineering or Physics based program
- 1-3 years engineering or technical experience
- Effective technical presentation and communication skills
- Ability to communicate with internal and external customers and staff
- Understanding of foundation of corporate identity and business needs as applied to projects/assignments
