SpaceX is looking to maximize Starlink's utility for communities and businesses around the globe by developing and deploying the world's most advanced broadband internet system, which includes thousands of satellites and consumer receivers.
Requirements
- 2+ years of industry experience managing product technical requirements
- 2+ years of industry experience in mechanical or electrical product design
- 2+ years of industry experience with project management (technical scope, schedule, cost)
- Prior experience with the full consumer-facing hardware product life cycle
- Capable of solving complex problems with little to no supervision and on schedule
Responsibilities
- Own a product from design to launch – work with stakeholders to define the roadmap, make the product manufacturable at rate, ensure the design is best suited for the customer, coordinate product mapping, and drive launch to target international markets
- Serve as key technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders to ensure production meets targets and product launch is successful
- Translate new product strategies into business requirements and technical deliverables to ensure new product introduction meets business needs
- Identify opportunities for improvement via market research, data analysis, and beta testing campaigns
- Support engineering failure analysis and root cause investigation during initial roll out and early production of new products
- Projects may include launching new Starlink kits, establishing new and innovative production lines, spearheading massive insourcing projects, and more.
- In this role, you'll get a unique glimpse into the high-level workings of the program and the launch process for new products.
Other
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or physics
- 2+ years of experience leading engineering projects (internship and extracurricular experience is applicable)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a highly cross-functional role
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding startup atmosphere
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be able to travel and work extended hours/weekends as needed - up to 10%
- Must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
