3M is looking to maintain and expand its aerospace film portfolio to enable business growth and further its competitive position in the marketplace
Requirements
- Experience developing thermoplastic and thermoset film, coating and adhesive products of a variety of compositions including urethane, epoxy, acrylic, etc.
- Experience in multiple manufacturing processes including extrusion and coating
- Familiarity, and preferably experience, with aerospace composite manufacturing techniques and modeling/simulation processes
- Experience in regulated product categories with expertise in product risk assessments, failure mode analysis, and product reliability
- Masters or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Polymer Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science from an accredited institution
Responsibilities
- Developing new products and product platforms to maintain and expand 3M’s aerospace film portfolio to enable business growth and further our competitive position in the marketplace
- Commercializing new products aligned to global customer needs in collaboration with customers and cross-functional teams
- Developing a strong understanding of our customer/market needs especially as it relates to regulatory standards and critical to quality metrics
- Collaborating with research teams from across 3M, in industry, and in academia to develop new technology, product, and manufacturing capabilities
- Identifying and leveraging external interactions to identify and anticipate industry trends that will accelerate technology and product development
- Initiating and contributing to the development of Intellectual Property and IP strategies
Other
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution (completed and verified prior to start)
- Ten (5) years of product development, process engineering, or laboratory research in a private, public, government or military environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
- May include up to 10% domestic/international travel
- Collaborative interpersonal style with leadership and networking skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
