Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is seeking a Product Engineer to evaluate designs for manufacturability and lead the development of new products into production, ensuring technical and schedule aspects are managed throughout the production lifecycle.
Requirements
- CAD, 3-D modeling, assembly creation, drawings and GD&T.
- Design of tooling and fixtures
- Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques
- Formal problem analysis and resolution
- Working with aerospace products and processes.
- Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing practices
- Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) systems.
Responsibilities
- Development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation (including manufacturing instructions, routings, process specifications and tooling) as well as product testing requirements and methods.
- Solving manufacturing problems, investigating process failures and implementing corrective actions
- Development of automated test fixtures and assembly tools
- Development of layouts of manufacturing cell design including tooling, machinery and equipment.
- Creation of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
- Technical compliance and risk assessment
- Creating standard work and contributing to manufacturing cell planning
Other
- The Product Engineer will be responsible for evaluating designs for manufacturability and leading development of new products into production.
- Candidate will have key areas of expertise in analyzing user requirements, mechanical design, tool design, and manufacturing cell layout.
- This position supports and reports directly to the Product Engineering Lead.
- The Product Engineer (PE) is the technical lead on internal and external projects and is responsible for all technical and schedule aspects of the project/product throughout the production life cycle.
- Providing continuity during transitions from proposals to production by acting as the main technical liaison between the customer and EBAD.
- Coordination with other departments to ensure the production viability of new designs, creation of the required documentation, and internal and customer approval of documentation.
- Interface with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors.
- Implementation of Lean methodologies including standard work, point of use tooling, material presentation and process improvements.
- Tracking status and ensuring completion of operations milestones and tasks for production programs
- Knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and systems
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
- Project management skills with the ability to document, plan, and execute programs
- MS Office– Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Familiar with and able to work in MS Project.
