Parker Hannifin is looking to improve its product line by handling design responsibilities for assigned products, developing new product variants and new products, and maintaining and improving existing products in terms of cost, quality, and performance.

Requirements

  • familiarity with personal computer and CAD software required.
  • Must possess strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools, and hands-on capabilities to work on projects without supervision.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes preferred.
  • Prefer lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, project management, FMEA, and quality systems experience.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes CAD software to develop product improvements.
  • Performs root cause analysis on defective products using engineering principles and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Determine root cause using statistical methods (e.g., Design of Experiments (DOE), SPC).
  • Modifies existing products to resolve quality problems, and coordinates activities of multiple disciplines to implement the solution.
  • Modifies existing products and creates new products for new applications.
  • Defines product performance standards and product acceptance standards using knowledge of systems and laboratory testing equipment and procedures.
  • Determines disposition of non-conforming material using engineering judgment and knowledge.

Other

  • B.S. in Engineering or Engineering Technology and 3-5 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Good math skills
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and hear and is regularly required to speak.
  • The employee must occasionally stand and walk.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, and the ability to focus.
  • This position is exposed to moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • This position requires occasional travel.
