3M is looking for a Product Engineer to be the key contact for a family of products within the Extrusion, Tapes, & Ceramics Value Stream, driving EHS&R alignment, leading new product introductions and management of change qualifications, ensuring product quality, and leading product improvements to reduce costs and enhance quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years experience in a private, public, government or military environment in one or more of the following areas: product engineering, process engineering, project engineering, project management, and/or research laboratory.
  • Has held positions in at least one manufacturing facility with minimum five (5) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated results leading product specific improvements across multiple processes and teams
  • Demonstrated results driving projects/initiatives related to product Quality Improvement, Unit Cost Modeling, and Cost Reduction projects.
  • Technical experience in polymer film extrusion, web handling & converting
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience utilizing statistical tools in problem solving is preferred

Responsibilities

  • You will be the key Menomonie contact for a family of products within the Extrusion, Tapes, & Ceramics Value Stream.
  • You will be responsible for strong leadership in driving EHS&R alignment, with the support of the plant Safety organization related to the products & its raw materials (TSCA, IH, etc.).
  • Plant lead for the scaleup of New Product Introductions & Management of Change qualifications that will impact your products.
  • This role will be responsible for Product Quality. This includes maintaining customer alignment and leadership around proactive quality improvements.
  • This includes driving customer compliance and corrective action in alignment with plant and specific product quality management systems with the support of the Plant Quality Team.
  • Lead product improvement utilizing the LSS methodology towards improvements in unit cost reduction, PPU &, quality improvements - from RM to Customer with support from the process and quality teams.
  • This includes leading supplier management as it relates to the quality of your products.

  • May include up to 10% domestic travel.
