Dynamic Manufacturing is looking for a Product Engineer III to become the subject matter expert for automotive drivetrain products, responsible for all technical aspects of transmission or drivetrain components, including quality, applications, materials, manufacturing, process improvement, testing, and validation procedures.
Requirements
- Functionality of all types of automotive transmissions or ability to learn
- Components of automotive transmissions and their functions or ability to learn
- Hands on experience disassembling and resembling automotive transmissions or willingness to participate in order to learn
- Documentation such as APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flows
- IATF 16949 systems, including understanding and adherence to the policies, procedures, and instructions
- Solid of error proofing concepts and applications
- Understanding of automotive test systems
Responsibilities
- Reverse Engineering: Analyzing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) transmissions to understand their design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Component Design and Improvement: Developing or modifying components to enhance durability, performance, or cost-effectiveness. This includes gears, shafts, clutches, and other critical parts.
- Process Optimization: Streamlining the remanufacturing process to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality. This involves everything from disassembly to final assembly and testing.
- Quality Control: Establishing and maintaining rigorous quality standards to ensure remanufactured transmissions meet or exceed OEM specifications.
- Failure Analysis: Investigating transmission failures to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Material Selection: Choosing appropriate materials for components based on factors like cost, durability, and performance.
- Testing and Validation: Conducting thorough testing to verify the performance and reliability of remanufactured transmissions.
