Requirements
- Ability to be highly proficient in PC particularly excel and power point, and have the ability to prepare speeches, presentations, and other materials for a high executive level.
- Ability to understand business math in calculating profit/loss, percent change, cost, etc
- Ability to learn as special training and education is required in how to use the order entry system, understanding the business model, learning about various markets, and weekly quote procedures.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the preparation of offers and daily movement of inventories to be coordinated between Exchanges, Packinghouses, and Sales Offices.
- Responsible for creating reports on sales, supply, demand, key competitor activity, “what if” scenarios, and others.
- Maintains current knowledge of the competitive situation in the market place.
- Makes analysis of sales and supply information so that pricing and supply decisions can be made.
- Provides analytical reports to management including gathering of data and the preparation of sales reports and demand forecasts.
- Monitors all aspects of distribution including sales activity, field production, packing, warehousing, and inventory management, market conditions and competitive pricing.
- Accept assignments given by Director which include oral and written presentations to various groups, written crop and market analysis reports, etc.
Other
- Responsible for the marketing of specific varieties consisting of either navels, cara caras, blood oranges, valencias, mandarins, tangerines, tangelos, lemons, organics, and/ or limes.
- Responsible for establishing prices and weekly movement schedules.
- Responsible for all administrative matters pertaining to the Varietal Management functions, exercising discretion and independent judgment.
- Responsible for keeping abreast of business situation for pre-determined projects and activities.
- Responsible for developing annual sales and marketing plans ensuring they deliver overall category and business objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Agricultural Economics, Business, Marketing, Food Marketing or related field or equivalent.
- 5 – 8 years Management experience in sales of organic varieties preferred.
- A valid unrestricted driver's license
- Possess working knowledge of marketing functions.
- Ability to effectively work simultaneously on many priorities, which change frequently.
- Ability to effectively communicate with several types and levels of staff and external contacts, both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to understand opposing points of view on complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different points of view
- Ability to make quick decisions that affect customers and departments.
