PowerMyLearning is looking to improve the experience of its products for students, teachers, and families by leading the development of the product roadmap and implementation.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with agile product development practices and experience managing iterative design, validation, delivery, and launch cycles.
  • Familiarity with K12 data privacy frameworks and legislation (e.g. FERPA, COPPA)
  • Knowledge of technical integrations common in K-12 edtech (e.g. Clever)
  • Experience leveraging AI tools for product development.

Responsibilities

  • Define high-level product requirements that capture user and business needs, and collaborate with the Product Owner to ensure detailed requirements and backlog items reflect those priorities.
  • Work with the UX Researcher to conduct discovery research, usability testing, and data analysis to uncover unmet user needs and validate solutions.
  • Use agile product and development practices and tools to manage iterative design, validation, and delivery.
  • Work with the Engineering Team to scope and support technical integrations.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Team to design and integrate AI-enabled features, ensuring alignment with learning standards, equity goals, and responsible use guidelines.
  • Ensure product design and delivery account for data privacy frameworks (FERPA, COPPA) and district procurement requirements.
  • Establish and monitor progress towards clear, measurable product OKRs to maximize impact and accountability.

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in product management or a closely related role, with responsibility for shaping product strategy and execution in the K-12 edtech sector.
  • Awareness of the broader K–12 edtech landscape, including major product categories, procurement practices, and interoperability standards.
  • Strong analytical-reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and research to inform product decisions.
  • Strong project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to balance competing needs.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders, including internal teams, school partners, and funders.
