Brady Corporation is seeking to drive the development of advanced laser marking solutions for industrial applications, aiming to enhance their global portfolio of industrial marking products by integrating deep expertise in laser technology, software development, ERP integration, and user experience (UX) design.

Requirements

  • Experience with Software Architecture and Firmware, including the trade space of software applications for controlling laser hardware.
  • Understanding of Software and Firmware development.
  • Understanding of laser operation, optics, and industrial system integration.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating machine controls with ERP/MES systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Knowledge of UX/UI design methodologies and modern design/tooling practices.
  • Hands-on experience with competitive marking technology (e.g., Telesis, FOBA, Trumpf, Videojet, Panasonic, or Keyence marking platforms). Highly preferred
  • Advanced skills in real-time software, image processing, or embedded systems. Highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize software for laser marking systems, with an emphasis on precise and reliable marking on various metals and industrial substrates.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on laser physics, laser source integration, and the end-to-end process of laser marking in high-demand manufacturing environments.
  • Support user workflow automation, firmware controller boards, and enable high customization of industrial marking jobs.
  • Lead the integration of laser marking systems with enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms, enabling seamless data exchange, traceability, and automated job management within customer operations.
  • Work with Brady's software developers to implement software interfaces focused on intuitive operation, performance feedback, error handling, and real-time process visualization.
  • Benchmark UX and feature sets against competitor solutions to ensure Brady delivers best-in-class usability.
  • Stay current with industrial laser trends, new marking techniques, and competitive software offerings; propose and prototype strategic product enhancements based on market evolution.

Other

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Optical Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Understanding of PLCs, motion control, or industrial automation is highly preferred.
  • Ability to manage complex projects, balance multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, manufacturing-driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable bridging gaps between engineering, commercial, and end-user stakeholders.
  • Experience with IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things), smart factory, or Industry 4.0 initiatives. Highly preferred
