Carpenter Technology's Product Metallurgy business unit solves problems at all levels of the supply chain, including customer issues with material in the field and material received, production issues at Carpenter, raw material issues, and incoming quality.
Requirements
- Candidates should have experience with data analysis; metallurgy fundamentals, crystalline structures; mechanical or characterization lab at university
Responsibilities
- Assist in product enhancement S7 work and material investigations including analysis of defects, test failures, statistical process control, etc.
- Review claims, perform root cause corrective action, develop new products via product enhancements modified within existing portfolio, resolve production issues, ensure routings and test plans are accurate and satisfy purchase order requirements, work with major aerospace customers for critical parts.
Other
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program majoring in Materials Science Engineering
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Willing and able to work on-site at our Reading, PA location.
- Applicants MUST be US Citizens or Green Card Holders due to Carpenter’s government contracts.
