At Transit Tech, we’re seeking a strategic, customer-focused, proactive, and detail-oriented Product Owner (PO) to join our Agile Release Train (ART) and drive the development and delivery of our web-based software applications.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in roles such as Product Owner, Business Analyst, or equivalent within Agile delivery teams or similar role in web-based software development projects.
- Proven expertise working in Agile/Scrum and/or SAFe environments.
- Strong experience with backlog management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and familiarity with Figma or similar platforms.
- Ability to write clear, actionable stories and acceptance criteria aligned to customer needs and strategic objectives.
- Ability to write clear and actionable user stories, requirements, and project documentation.
- Experience configuring software products for client-specific use cases.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize development items, validate deliveries, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Act as the content authority for the Agile Team and own the Team Backlog.
- Gather, analyze, and understand client requirements and translate business and customer needs into clearly defined features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Write clear, detailed, and actionable Jira stories and epics for development teams.
- Maintain a continuously groomed and prioritized backlog that reflects stakeholder feedback and aligns with business value.
- Continuously groom and prioritize the product backlog to align with sprint goals and overall project objectives.
- Own the backlog of the product, open new stories/bugs as reported, and close everything is done.
- Validate deliverables against requirements and communicate feedback to the development team.
Other
- Act as the voice of the customer and key representative of product strategy within your Agile Team.
- Serve as the client proxy, ensuring the team always has clarity on the “why” behind the work.
- Collaborate closely with Product Management leadership to ensure strategy and execution are aligned.
- Maintain constant communication with internal and external stakeholders, providing visibility into progress, risks, and timelines.
- Act as the single point of contact for project timelines, ETAs, and project plans, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed at all times.
