Orion180 is seeking a Product Owner to ensure that development teams have clear, actionable requirements, directly impacting the quality, efficiency, and success of their insurance products by solving business needs through technology.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience writing user stories in Microsoft Azure DevOps or similar agile tools.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear and detailed BRDs and process documentation.
- Familiarity with API integrations, data mapping, and system-to-system conversions.
- Strong ability to dig into processes, ask the right questions, and produce precise requirements.
- Comfortable with learning new systems, APIs, and tools to become the go-to SME.
- Excellent written documentation skills and ability to deliver engaging demos.
- Exceptional backlog management, prioritization, and time management abilities.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and prioritize the team backlog in Microsoft Azure DevOps.
- Develop clear, detailed user stories that map business needs to technical requirements.
- Engage with stakeholders to capture requirements and produce comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and process flows.
- Partner with technical teams to document API mapping and data transformations (value-to-value mappings, conversions, payload expectations).
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate requirements and ensure high-quality releases.
- Deliver progress updates, sprint demos, and reports to stakeholders and leadership.
- Attend Product Owner training and pursue certification (if not already held) to sharpen your skills.
Other
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent insurance industry or software product experience.
- 5+ years in Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Analyst (BA/BSA), or similar roles.
- Critical Thinking: Comfortable being challenged on fundamentals (requirements gathering, user stories, BRD writing) and able to clearly explain thought processes.
- Influence & Communication: Proven ability to engage stakeholders, clarify priorities, and gain alignment.
- Work in a collaborative, innovative setting where your contributions make an immediate impact.
