STEMCO is looking for a Product/Process Engineer to maintain existing product or process designs and work on the design, development, validation, release, and launch of new products and processes within a cross-functional team environment. The role also involves continuous improvement of production products/processes, manufacturing process improvement, customer concerns, warranty analysis, and supplier development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Materials, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
- Two to seven years’ product design experience.
- Experience on product design for stamped, rubber molded, plastic, and/or aluminum components, preferred.
- Working knowledge of 3D modeling software required. SolidWorks and ANSYS preferred.
- Microsoft Office products Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Thorough understanding of Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP), PPAP, and FMEA methods and tools.
- Experience using statistical methods to solve problems including design of experiments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, maintain, and improve robust product design.
- Resolve difficult problems systematically with effective solutions.
- Follow a standard phase gate development procedure for new product and process development activities.
- Develop capable design with appropriate tolerances for manufacturability.
- Provide product instructions and design FMEA's.
- Develop processes and systems that comply with recognized quality management system requirements.
- Lead/Participate in cross functional teams to implement new products or continuously improve processes.
