Quality assurance of InP/GaAs products manufactured in Sherman, TX, ensuring outgoing quality assurance is designed and executed properly, and managing material review board activities.
Requirements
- Knowledge of InP/GaAs semiconductors a plus.
- Strong background in practical application of statistical and quality tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Salesforce tools.
- JMP proficiency highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Quality assurance of InP/GaAs products manufactured in Sherman, TX
- Quality representative in new product introduction (NPI) team, responsible for ensuring appropriate quality-related aspects of new design are done with individual contribution or leading/facilitating the new product introduction team.
- Customer interface on quality issues during development, including correlation work and quality-related specifications.
- Ensuring outgoing quality assurance (OQC) is designed and executed properly.
- Leads material review board (MRB) activities throughout product life. Includes internal execution and disposition, and customer interface for customer related MRBs.
- Owner for returned material (RMA) disposition and analysis, including corrective actions (CCARs, 8Ds, SCARs etc.) – from start to finish.
Other
- Experience in product quality preferred but not required
- BS/MS in Engineering or Statistics or equivalent degree
- Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills. Calm, rational, unemotional approach to problem-solving.
- Work effectively with other members of Coherent operations, development engineering, operations engineering, and other teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers, including customer-presentable reports. This position requires significant customer interaction, sometimes in stress situations involving product failures.
- Ability to organize and manage his/her daily work across many different tasks
- Collaboration with other engineers and working with data.
- Work in a class 100/1000 clean room parts of some days
- Wear full clean room attire (smock, mask, etc.) parts of some days.
- Flexibility to support a 24/7 hour facility.
- This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence 3 days a week.
- Nearly all work is with computer.
- Ability to move in a clean room.
- Ability to sit at a computer and in meetings for long periods of time, including at offshore time zones.
- Ability to adorn clean room attire- including bending and stooping.
