Meta is looking for an AI-first Product Security Engineer Intern to leverage machine learning, automation, and intelligent systems to revolutionize vulnerability research and secure software development, minimizing security and privacy risks for over 3 billion users.
Requirements
- Experience with exploiting common web security vulnerabilities
- Experience finding vulnerabilities in interpreted languages (PHP, Ruby, Python)
- Experience writing software that enables security processes with integration of AI/ML capabilities
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.) applied to security problems
- Experience with AI-powered security tools, automated penetration testing, or intelligent threat detection systems
- Coursework or projects involving AI/ML applications in cybersecurity, anomaly detection, or automated vulnerability discovery
Responsibilities
- perform manual design and implementation reviews augmented by AI tools for products and services that make up the Meta ecosystem, like Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, and more.
- build tools leveraging machine learning models for security automation (static and dynamic analysis) and intelligent frameworks that enable Meta to scale security consistently across all products.
- research, develop, and apply mitigations to products using LLMs and other ML tech to identify and prevent vulnerabilities from being exploited.
- contribute to the fine-tuning of AI agents, specifically designed for security use cases, threat detection, and vulnerability assessment.

- Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program and in the process of obtaining a Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or a related field
- Proven project management and execution skills
- Self-motivated and proactive, with ability to identify key areas of focus and take initiative to drive results
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- Intent to return to full-time degree program after completion of the internship
- Contributions to the security community (public research, blogging, presentation, open source, etc.) particularly around AI in cybersecurity
