Hunton Distribution, a division of Hunton Group in Houston, TX, is looking to solve the problem of managing the procurement of products, materials, and services to meet its cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of HVAC products and industry (preferred).
- Experience with purchasing software or ERP systems (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best possible pricing and terms.
- Grow and maintain vendor relationships and develop stock strategy with a variety of suppliers.
- Maintain the Product Team's position as the center of excellence and product knowledge experts for both stocked product lines and non-stock special order capabilities.
- Assist and coach the various sales teams in identifying, quoting, and selling special-order and large job quote products.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including Purchasing, Inside Sales, Counter Sales, Outside Sales, and Warehouse teams to ensure customer satisfaction and increase revenue.
- Lead product training efforts within all HD branches.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery of products to meet operational needs.
Other
- Associate or bachelor's degree (preferred).
- 3-5 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably within the HVAC industry.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills.
