ICON is seeking a Product Test Technician III to lead the operation, integration, and troubleshooting of complex test systems, build and maintain test infrastructure, fabricate advanced test articles, and collaborate with engineering teams on system improvements.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, or fluid system testing.
- Strong fabrication, assembly, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience with mechanical tools, welding, fasteners, and gear assemblies.
- Intermediate proficiency with PLC systems (Beckhoff Twincat preferred).
- Experience with pumps, AC motors, gears, air compressors, pressure vessels, and lifting equipment.
- Welding experience (AC Aluminum, DC Steel).
Responsibilities
- Lead setup, operation, and troubleshooting of mechanical, fluid, and electro-mechanical test systems.
- Support development and implementation of ICON's test infrastructure, including test stands, fluid systems, and processes.
- Fabricate and integrate test articles and equipment: fluid panels, actuators, motors, gears, electrical cabinets, PLCs, and welded assemblies.
- Collaborate with engineering to develop system upgrades, maintain documentation, and analyze test data with actionable recommendations.
- Travel to ICON job sites to support on-site testing, repair, and troubleshooting.
Other
- Mentor and guide junior Product Test Technicians.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associates in mechatronics, mechanical engineering technology, or relevant field preferred).
- Strong collaboration, communication, and mentorship skills.
- Prior experience in aerospace, military/defense, aircraft, construction, or similar industries.
- A&P license or technician certification.
