U. S. Steel is seeking a Product Testing & Characterization Engineer Intern to lead a project focused on improvement of lab testing processes.
Requirements
- Ability to apply engineering, scientific principles, and the DMAIC process
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute laboratory-based projects to meet specific goals and objectives
- Work independently on projects while relying upon available resources
- Develop a technical understanding of the project by effectively working with the project team, using online resources, and internal experts
- Report frequently on progress using established communication protocols
- Prepare, submit, and present a final project report at the end of the internship.

- Candidates must maintain a 3.0 or higher overall GPA
- Candidates must be a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree, in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Candidates must have completed or be working towards completion of their sophomore year and be in good academic standing
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
