Yahoo is seeking to improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of its media platform by hiring experienced DevOps/Cloud Infrastructure engineers to work on production systems and implement operability improvements, security, infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, monitoring, and other system requirements.
Requirements
- At least 3 years experience in DevOps/ PE / SRE and Software Development roles
- At least 3 Years of experience in at least one of the web technologies like Apache, Jetty, Tomcat
- At least a year of experience in containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes) , cloud platforms like AWS
- Intermediate level of coding expertise in one or more language including Java, Nodejs, Python, or Go
- Experience with building CI/CD pipelines, git
- Deep understanding of UNIX/Linux system internals and tools for troubleshooting application stack dumps and networking
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP and networking
Responsibilities
- Manage production environment at vast scale and their associated infrastructure and tools
- Support the operability roadmap to improve the availability, performance, scalability and efficiency of the services by implementing monitoring, automation, redundancy, capacity and business continuity planning
- Work on challenging system and network problems to improve system performance and reliability
- Implement and maintain monitoring to provide complete transparency to application and system state, history, trends and insights
- Participation in on-call rotation - drive incident resolution, live troubleshooting and impact mitigation
- Work with developer partners to implement operability improvements, security, infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, monitoring and other system requirements
- Develop tools, automation platforms and intelligent monitoring

- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree
