Yahoo is looking to solve the problem of connecting its brands and partners with a huge audience of hundreds of millions of people, by designing, building, and maintaining a global infrastructure and services that support Yahoo products.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Linux (RedHat, CentOS, etc), TCP/IP, HTTP protocols, DNS, Content Delivery Networks (CDN), Load Balancers, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in one or more languages (Bash, Python, Perl, C++, or Go)
- Experience with Proxy technologies (e.g., ATS, Nginx, Envoy).
- Experience using Containers and Orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, GCP/AWS; Istio is a plus).
- Proficiency in Automation/Configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Helm Charts, etc.).
- Experience with Monitoring/Observability tools (ELK stack, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, etc.).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI)
Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and support Yahoo’s production and corporate infrastructure around the clock.
- Provide full-stack support for Yahoo products and services, including application monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving system alarms.
- Partner with development, operations, and business counterparts to ensure near 100% uptime of all services.
- Communicate with internal and external customers about operational issues and collaborate between engineering teams.
- Drive product and process improvements.
- Stay current with new technology and promote a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Develop robust, scalable solutions that cater to diverse product requirements.
Other
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively, safely and inclusively with others; exhibiting trustworthiness and meeting expectations; and safeguarding business operations and brand integrity.
