Puig is looking to engage talented students to evolve future leaders in fashion through an internship program at Carolina Herrera, providing hands-on experience in the business world.
Requirements
- Understands how to read patterns, basic hand sewing and machine sewing is a plus
- Knowledge of woven and knitwear garment construction (or strong desire to learn).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PLM database a plus
- Knowledge of fabric and fabric types
- Knowledge of the garment district
Responsibilities
- Make swatches, and apply them to cut tickets for contractors to follow
- Prepare samples for upcoming fittings (steaming, measuring as needed)
- Shadow Production Department with all department related activities specifically focusing on creating trim packages (including counting buttons, folding sticker piles, rolling content label ribbon), preparing shipments, and factory communications regarding duplicates.
- Participate in Production fittings.
- Participate in the creation and maintenance of patternmaker style sheets.
- Research and source materials, trims, fabric, etc based on the seasonal collection needs.
- Support with factory pick-up and drop offs around the garment district.
