Ingalls Shipbuilding needs to ensure the proper functioning and longevity of its equipment and machinery through preventive maintenance, requiring skilled personnel to perform these tasks and document them accurately.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in a related discipline and 1 year of experience in PM, Electrical, Automechanics, or Machinery.
- HS Diploma/GED and 5 years of experience in PM, Electrical, Automechanics, or Machinery.
- A combination of education and experience may be used in lieu of degree.
- Should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suites: Word, Access, Excel, & Power Point.
Responsibilities
- Set up and conduct Preventive Maintenance of equipment and machinery following procedures, ILS Booklets and Tech Manuals.
- Have ability to interpret drawings and locate shipboard installed equipment.
- Document discrepant and completed Preventive Maintenance in an electronic format.
- Be mechanically inclined with ability to work with motors, pumps, fans, cooling units etc.
- Have ability to use hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties.
- Gathers, collects, records, tracks and verifies data and information from multiple sources.
- Compiles, reviews and analyzes data.

- Must be able to work at extreme heights.
- Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Must be able to work indoors/outdoors year round in all weather conditions.
- Candidate must be able to work flexible hours, overtime and weekends as required by Management.
