The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) is seeking to lead the product and operational strategy of its Innovation Lab within the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Program to manage end-to-end product pilot lifecycles for AI-enabled solutions, oversee the Lab's day-to-day operations, and drive strategic alignment across AI projects within state government.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of AI technologies, ethics in AI, and operational best practices.
- Familiarity with AI governance, experimentation methodologies (e.g., design thinking, agile), and product-market fit evaluation.
- Skills: Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to navigate complex environments and drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Running agile development sprints or startup-style discovery processes.
- Translating technical concepts into accessible language for diverse stakeholders.
- A systems thinker with a bias toward action, comfortable navigating ambiguity while maintaining clarity of purpose.
Responsibilities
- Manage the product lifecycle of AI solutions incubated in the Innovation Lab, from ideation to pilot.
- Partner with stakeholders to define AI product requirements, success metrics, and user-centric outcomes.
- Translate policy goals and user needs into actionable product roadmaps for emerging technology projects.
- Establish metrics and evaluation frameworks to assess the performance and impact of AI initiatives, driving continuous improvement and accountability.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Innovation Lab, ensuring it remains a collaborative space for prototyping, testing, and co-designing AI solutions with vendor partners and state agencies.
- Maintain lab infrastructure and optimize workflows to support rapid development cycles.
- Develop and implement an AI innovation agenda aligned with Georgia’s broader digital strategy, ethics framework, and service modernization goals.
Other
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Human-Centered Design, Public Administration, or a related field
- three (3) years of experience in product management, program leadership, or innovation in a tech-forward environment.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., AI, Public Policy, Innovation Management)
- five (5) years of experience leading product or innovation initiatives, preferably in the public sector or civic tech ecosystem.
