Detroit Labs is looking for an experienced Program Manager to lead a large-scale IT program for an existing client in the automotive industry, focusing on connected vehicle services.
Requirements
- Deep familiarity with Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, etc.)
- Experience managing the full system lifecycle, from planning and requirements through deployment and operations
- Working knowledge of modern technology ecosystems—including cloud platforms, APIs, and web services
- Familiarity with the automotive industry, experience with connected and/or autonomous vehicles is a plus
- Experience with cloud platforms, APIs, and web services
- Experience with program management tools and software
- Experience with data analytics and performance metrics
Responsibilities
- Lead the successful planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale IT programs
- Manage program scope, schedules, budgets, risks, and interdependencies
- Facilitate regular program updates, including executive dashboards and briefings
- Partner closely with engineering, product, QA, and operations teams to support smooth and successful program delivery
- Promote Agile principles across teams and encourage continuous learning, adaptability, and delivery excellence
- Support the integration of technical components—including cloud platforms, APIs, and web services—within the program ecosystem
- Help define governance structures, operating models, and performance metrics to track progress and ensure program outcomes
Other
- 10+ years of experience in IT program or project management
- 5+ years of experience leading mid to large-scale IT projects
- Experience communicating program or project updates to senior leadership, including C-suite stakeholders
- Ability to guide and support collaborative, cross-functional teams across diverse and distributed environments
- Comfortable balancing hands-on work with broader strategic planning and program execution
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Clear and adaptable communicator, able to connect with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Must be local to the Metro Detroit area
- Must work a hybrid work schedule, coming into the Auburn Hills office a minimum of three days per week
