Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Program Specialist – Data, AI & Automation to manage the planning, organization, and implementation of complex programs aligned with business unit imperatives by forging strategic partnerships that drive customer-back engagements and delivery through data, artificial intelligence, and automation technologies.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data, AI, analytics, or automation environment, with a focus on program-level coordination.
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI), data cataloging platforms, or MDM solutions
- Cloud data warehousing platforms, such as Snowflake, etc.
- Experience developing AI/LLM solutions, including agentic AI, etc.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile DevOps) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity and self-motivation
Responsibilities
- Ensure alignment with the business unit’s strategic objectives, enterprise data strategy, and AI/automation roadmap.
- Identify and manage inter-dependencies between initiatives to avoid duplication, optimize resources, and accelerate delivery timelines.
- Elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring traceability and alignment with program goals.
- Use advanced techniques to map workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend AI/automation interventions that deliver measurable value.
- Collaborate with technical teams to assess the feasibility, scalability, and integration of proposed solutions within the enterprise architecture.
- Identify opportunities to refine processes, improve solution delivery, and enhance the overall impact of Data/AI/Automation initiatives.
- Work effectively despite uncertainty and high levels of ambiguity, leveraging prior experience to make progress and deliver on business objectives.
