Requirements

  • Experience working with one or more of the following aerospace or commercial equivalent preventative tools - SPC, FMEA, QFD, PPAP
  • Previous experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience with one or more of the following standards: ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9145, or MDA Assurance Provisions
  • Previous experience interpreting schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques
  • Six Sigma, Lean, and/or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, Continuous Improvement, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systems, AS9145 Requirements for APQP & PPAP, and FAI Standard AS9102
  • General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure flow down of product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and statement of work documents
  • Interpreting these requirements to ensure supply base both understands and complies with these quality requirements
  • Interpret quality requirements (Q-Notes) and make decisions on Q-Note application to procured production parts
  • Perform on-site Source Surveillance and Corrective Action reviews
  • Participate in design reviews, process change reviews, qualification test reviews, as well as Test Equipment verification and validation
  • Drive continuous product / process improvements of our supply base by identifying supplier risk & systemic performance issues and driving solutions through various tools/methodologies including: Root Cause Corrective Action and statistical / analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies
  • Facilitate closed loop process controls and continuous improvement methods to improve product and process quality

Other

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and 8 years’ experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Ability to travel as required by program needs. Can anticipate some travel (Up to 50%) to support supplier assessments, audits, reviews
  • Strong technical engineer with excellent communication skills that exhibits presence and influence and self-managed technical contributor
  • Must be able to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories)
