Hanson Design Build Remodel is looking for a Project Developer to act as a strategic partner to clients, guiding them from initial conversations through project completion. This role is crucial for understanding client visions, managing budgets, and ensuring a smooth transition to the production team, ultimately aiming to increase the close ratio with target clients.
Requirements
- 7-10 years in construction product development, sales, estimating, or remodeling experience
- In-depth knowledge of residential construction procedures and details
- Solid understanding of building codes, trades, permits, zoning, and specifications
- Tech-savvy with experience in MS Word, Excel, and project management tools
Responsibilities
- Accurately estimate the project scope, project needs, and costs.
- Coordinate an initial design meeting with the Client and the assigned Project Designer, maintain excellent and clear communication with the Project Designer and all members of the team, and review preliminary designs to help shape the project with respect to the Client's budget.
- Forward preliminary design and supporting documents to the team for estimating, ensure the estimate reflects all costs and includes the appropriate company mark-up, and present it with specifications to the Client.
- Make adjustments as needed regarding budget and focus on more design details to achieve a close ratio of 30% with target Clients.
- Obtain timely subcontractor quotes as appropriate.
- Present the final quote amount to the Client with the goal of securing a signed Construction Agreement and collecting the initial payment.
- Communicate internally that the project is ready for pre-construction, coordinate and attend the pre-construction meeting for hand-off to Production.

- Help the Client realize their remodeling dreams within their budget and, in conjunction with the design department, provide the production team with details and financial information for the project to be a success.

- Manage all communications or issues in a positive manner and communicate effectively to ensure high-quality expectations are met.
- Meet with prospective Clients to verify that we are a good fit, obtain a signed Design Agreement, and collect a retainer.
