The Project Manager II is responsible for planning, budgeting, overseeing, and documenting all aspects of assigned projects, typically of moderate to high complexity. This role works closely with project sponsors to maintain alignment to the scope, direction, and phasing of each project.

Requirements

  • Moderate experience with the concepts and processes required within project management methodologies, such as Project Management Life Cycle, or similar qualification.
  • Experience with technology solutions associated with project management such as Microsoft Project, SmartSheets, and/or comparative tools.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze information, selecting what is significant, identify gaps, evaluate solutions, and provide recommendations; ability to interpret and evaluate information from a range of sources and in a variety of formats.
  • Experience with multiple development methodologies including at least two of the following: waterfall, iterative, agile, or Scrum.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality project management for moderately sized efforts using the organization's Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) standards and best practices.
  • Facilitate projects throughout their lifecycle, including project team collaboration, project plan oversight, issue/risk management, communication to all stakeholders, financial reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Manage project escalations that adhere to established governance criteria to escalate issues and risks in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that project status, issues, and successes are communicated clearly to the project team, stakeholders, sponsors, steering committee, and all levels of management, and documented appropriately.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects, mentor other Project Managers, and ensure alignment for store rollouts.
  • Work with the Portfolio Lead to procure external resources, coordinate internal resource needs with managers, manage contracts, and plan/lead project kick-offs.
  • Select and employ the methodology that best fits the objectives and outcomes of the project, using specific methods, templates, and tools that are flexible to support approved methodologies (i.e., waterfall, agile, etc.).

Other

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in moderately complex project management, preferably within a retail or automotive services context.
  • Strong communication, influencing skills, and the ability to drive accountability are required to maintain cohesion between stakeholders and team members through project status, meeting facilitation, and in-person and virtual communications.
  • Must have strong business acumen and an ability to quickly learn and comprehend new concepts within the retail and automotive services industry.
  • Ability to work confidently, effectively, and with discretion with all staff levels.
