The Department of Ophthalmology has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Project Manager. The research project manager (RPM) will provide professional and administrative level lead support for multi-funded and multi-site research studies with a focus on epidemiology, ophthalmic imaging and ophthalmology evaluation, neuroimaging analyses, and dementia neuropathology.

Requirements

  • 4-5 (minimum 4) years of experience with human subjects research management preferably in an academic or healthcare-related setting, and preferably in health services and outcomes projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing large and/or multiple research projects.
  • Research administration experience (e.g., post-award fiscal experience, sponsor management).
  • Multi-site project management experience.
  • Multi-investigator team management experience.
  • Prior experience in research grant and scientific writing.
  • Thorough knowledge of HIPAA, IRB and related institutional requirements for the conduct of research.

Responsibilities

  • Manages research, core projects, and training and/or dissemination of programs.
  • Leads research projects and manages staff performing all project components.
  • Provides technical and managerial expertise associated with the implementation of studies and projects.
  • May participate in the development of research grants and contracts.
  • Provides oversight for accounting functions and financial oversight of project budgets and all expenditures.
  • Provide support to the school’s grants in support of the center work.
  • May supervise staff.

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.

  • Human Subject Research, Research Administration, And/Or Regulatory Compliance (5 Years)
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills; public speaking and presentation skills.
