Beehive Industries is revolutionizing the design, development, and delivery of jet propulsion systems to support the warfighter by integrating additive manufacturing to meet urgent needs for unmanned aerial defense, dramatically improving jet engine speed to market, fuel efficiency, and cost.

Requirements

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language

Responsibilities

  • assist and shadow engineers involved in the execution, design, analysis, and evaluation of turbomachinery components and assemblies using sound engineering principles, while meeting industry standards and program requirements
  • creation of definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stackups, and electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, and assembly
  • seeing how quality checks are used to eliminate interferences and to ensure interface requirements are met
  • gain experience in how drawings and models are managed consistent with industry standards for configuration management
  • get hands on with our testing and troubleshooting of mechanical assemblies and parts on our engine rigs
  • Learn how product design leads to product definition following standards for Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Be debriefed on design reviews and hear from other disciplines in design, performance, controls, and system integration

Other

  • At minimum, completed Sophomore year of college or university by the time of the summer internship assignment
  • High School/GED
  • Must have a minimum college GPA of 2.90 on a 4.00 scale at the time of application; cumulative, no rounding
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and motorized vehicle transportation if assigned an internship
  • Currently enrolled in a full-time, nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program in engineering (acceptable degrees include Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering)
  • Must have plans to be enrolled in classes during Fall Semester 2026
  • Ability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks during the summer of 2026
  • Effective presentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Engineering aptitude and passion for aerospace technology
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
