At Meta Robotics Studio, the business problem is to invent and develop technologies for the next generation of experiences, specifically in the path to AGI, intelligent robots, and advanced AI models. The Prototype Test Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and quality of new robotic prototypes by focusing on unit bring-up, new controls, debugging, and initial unit learnings.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Software Engineering including experience developing production-quality software and hardware integration systems using Python and Rust
- Experience with 0-1 hardware development and test development
Responsibilities
- Work alongside the product design team to understand unit bring-up and new controls
- Debug and support with first unit learnings for prototype builds
- Focus on "signs of life" testing to ensure basic unit functionality
- Adapt and implement new features and tests from firmware and software teams to ensure functionality and quality
- Work embedded with the first unit build, ensuring test understanding and assisting with debugging
- Document and relay information and learnings to the Test Manufacturing Engineer
- Scale testing efforts to support the unit's need for more sophisticated functionality and calibration testing

- BS degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or a related field
